Puttur: protest of Jidekallu college students against the cancellation of the post of librarian was withdrawn after the assurance of MLA Sanjiva Mathandur.

MLA Sanjeeva Mathandur, who received the request from the students, said that the post of lecturer will be given according to the number of students in the college..The number of students in Jidekallu College is less, so the government has vacated the post of Director of Physical Education and Librarian. I have already discussed this with the Minister of Higher Education and the Commissioner. Since it is a policy matter, the MLA informed the principal that some solution should be found locally.

The necessary infrastructure of the college and the posts of lecturers are being given first priority and work is being done. He is the chairman of the development committee of 24 colleges of the taluk and is also responsible for taking care of all the colleges with equal priority. I am working to provide necessary infrastructure to all the colleges like Uppinangadi, Puttur, Vitla, Bettampadi, Women’s College. Earlier the limit of number of students in colleges was 3 thousand and now it has been reduced to 2 thousand. But the number of students in Jidekallu College is 120. Then there is no agreement at the government level to give physical education director. Therefore, deputation will be considered, he said.
Protest is not the only solution. One day classes went to the students. Who is responsible for this? If we have appealed, it will not work there. The MLA informed the students that after giving the petition, there will be a lot of work behind it.
Later, the students withdrew their protest and attended the classes.
Coastal Development Authority Chairman Chanila Thimmappa Shetty, Aryapu Shakti Kendra Chairman Jayantha Shetty Kambalathaddah, College Principal Appu and student parents were present along with MLAs.
