Puttur: World Theater Day was celebrated at Spandana Hall of Saint Philomena College under the joint auspices of Yaksha Kalakendra and Internal Quality Assurance Cells of Saint Philomena College.
College Vice Principal Dr AP Radhakrishna as the chief guest told the students about the importance of Yakshagana and theater and the impact it had on their lives.
The principal of the college, Mr Presided over by Dr Anthony Prakashmontero Drama and theater reflect our culture. Theater has a lot to contribute to the development of society. People are being made aware of myths, social problems and plagues through theatre. Nowadays dramas do not get the importance that movies get. He said that it is the duty of all of us to preserve and develop theater art.
Student Samriddhi Shenai sang a song. Abhijna and the team prayed. Prashantrai, coordinator of Yakshakala Center of the college welcomed and felicitated. Sudhanva Shyam narrated the program. Students of Yakshakalakendra were present in the program.
