Puttur: Sri Bhagavan Mahavira Jayanti Day celebration was held at Taluk Administration Building Tehsildar Hall on Tuesday under the auspices of Taluk National Festivals Celebration Committee.
In front of the portrait of Lord Mahavira, a lamp was lit and flowers were offered.
Assistant Commissioner Girish Nandan, who laid flowers and spoke, said that Lord Mahavira is an example of truth, non-violence and ideals to the world. His message of peace is a model for the world. He said that it is necessary for us to take care of it today.
Tehsildar G. Sivashankar, T.P. Executive Officer Naveen Bhandari, DySP Dr Veeriah Hiremath and others were present.
