Puttur: In a heartbreaking incident, the dead bodies of three people who were buried under the mud in a bar collapse case near Gurumpu in Sullya have been pulled out.
The incident took place near Abu Bakr’s house on Saturday afternoon. The accident happened when the barrage work was going on. Three workers who were engaged in the work got stuck under the mud and died. Two men and one woman died. It has been identified that Somasekhara and Shanta couple from Gadag Mundaragi were among the deceased.
As soon as the bar fell, the local people started the operation, then the fire brigade and police personnel joined. JCB, which was working nearby, was brought in and the operation was carried out.After an operation of about one and a half hours, the dead bodies were taken out. By that time three had died. The dead body has been shifted to Sulya Government Hospital.
Minister S. Angara visited the place and inspected.
